BEATRICE was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to
William and Alice Hall on March 8, 1929, as the fifth of seven children. She was affectionately known as “Bunny" throughout her life.
Beatrice was educated in the Philadelphia school system and went on to cosmetology school, where upon graduating; she began working as a beautician. She later changed occupations and became a nurse's aide at Magee Memorial Hospital where she remained until her retirement.
In 1953, Beatrice married James W. Simmons and from that union
came Deborah and Mary Simmons.
Beatrice had a passion for fishing once she got over her fear of worms. She also enjoyed cleaning and frying fish and had fish scales flying around the kitchen at least twice a XFFL another favorite was her exquisite sweet potato pies which she enjoyed baking for her family and friends.
Beatrice was spiritually-inclined as she was raised in the Baptist church and later continued seeking further Bible understanding as a 7“ Day Adventist. then Jehovah's Witnesses came to the area, generally, she would disappear or not answer the door. But one day while conversing with a neighbor, she was unable to get back into the house quickly enough. Since she was then “caught", she finally listened and was amazed by the things she learned; once tearfully stating “she wished she found this out much earlier in life." Beatrice began studying the Bible, dedicated her life and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses at the tender age of 80.
Proceding Beatrice in death are her parents, William and Alice Hall; her siblings, Issac Hall, Lula Timmons, William Hall, Jr., Eurelia ‘Rita” Lee, and John Hall.
She leaves behind: her children, Deborah and Mary Simmons¡ grandchildren, Andrea Hunter and Matthew Pondexter; great- grandchildren, Miranda Pondexter, Ryan Patterson, Christopher and Thomas John Pondexter, her sister, Joyce Thompson; and a host of other relatives and friends..
She will be dearly missed.
Lovingly Submitted, the Family
