Dante N. Owusu, born on July 29, 1985, in Chester, Pennsylvania, was the beloved oldest son and first-born child in the Owusu family. He was a proud graduate of Roxborough/Widener Memorial High School, Dante was not only dedicated to his studies but also committed to being a positive influence in his community. He received a certificate of achievement and a good citizenship award for his efforts, showing the kindness and integrity that would become hallmarks of his character. After high school, Dante worked in a work-study program at City Hall, where he had the opportunity to connect with young adults from diverse backgrounds. His deep sense of empathy and desire to help others stood out in this role, laying the foundation for his future endeavors.

Dante continued to pursue his education at Penn State University Mont Alto, where he made lasting memories and formed strong friendships. His academic journey, however, was cut short when his medical condition began to take a toll on his health. Despite these challenges, Dante's spirit remained unbroken, and he continued to find ways to pursue his passions, particularly in the world of art. He had a natural talent for drawing, creating unique designs on t-shirts and sneakers. His artistic skills were more than just a hobby; they were a reflection of his creative soul. Dante loved to participate in drawing contests with like-minded individuals always bringing a sense of joy and competition to each event. He also had a particular love for graphic design, often spending hours on the computer, experimenting with different techniques and ideas to bring his visions to life.

In addition to his creative pursuits, Dante had a deep love for music, particularly the sounds of old-school rap and 90s hip-hop. His appreciation for this genre of music was more than just an interest; it was part of who he was. Dante’s love for art and music extended beyond his personal enjoyment. He was always eager to share his passion with others, whether through his drawings or his love of music. Dante was also a proud Eagles fan, and he loved gathering with friends and family to cheer on his team. Despite his many talents and interests, Dante's greatest joy came from his family and faith. Dante gave his life to Christ and joined Vine Memorial Baptist Church.

Dante was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents: Hector and Hallie Ramsay from Philadelphia, and Emmanual and Florence Serwah Owusu from West Africa, Ghana.

Dante leaves to mourn his parents, Ernest and Shelly Owusu, and his sister, Rachelle Serwah Owusu, who were his constant sources of support. In addition he leaves to mourn, his goddaughter Sanyah Witherspoon; his aunts, Alma Witherspoon, Linda Bannister, and Sheila Poden; his uncles, Aikins Owusu, Eric Owusu, and Anthony Poden; as well as a host of cousins, friends, and extended family members from both the United States and West Africa, Ghana.

Dante leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and love. Though his time with us was far too short, his impact on the lives of those who knew him will never be forgotten. Dante’s spirit will continue to inspire those who carry his memory, and his love will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his life.

Rest in peace, Dante. You will always be loved, and you will forever remain in our hearts.
