LIFE STORY
David Michael Jerrido, Sr. was born on December 12, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He departed this life on Monday, February 6, 2017. Born to Fred and Minnie Wylie Jerrido, he was known to have been a quiet child. He attended Edison High School where he excelled in sports playing baseball, basketball, and football. He graduated in 1962. He attended A & T College in Greensboro, North Carolina where he played football for the Aggies. David returned to Philadelphia and worked at Landis State Hospital, as an orderly. After encouragement from his mother, he took and passed a Pennsylvania State test. He then went to work for the Philadelphia Liquor Control Board as a clerk and moved up to production manager. He worked there for over 25 years and retired in 1995. After retirement, he did what he loved best, relaxed, watched his favorite sports on television or listened to them on radio, and visited family and friends. David was a Mason and a member of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, Doric Lodge No. 115, William Cooper #6, Holy Royal Arch, and Demolay #1, Consistory. Throughout his later years he battled cancer and heart problems. Throughout his illness he did not complain. He will be remembered for his humor and helpfulness. He leaves to mourn his wife Margaret Jerrido, three children: Mary Eleanor Jerrido, David Michael Jerrido, Jr., and Lynette Nicole Jerrido Knox; three grandchildren: David Michael Jerrido, III, Myles Elliott Knox, and Corey Michael Knox; three sisters: Patricia Jerrido, Minnie Miller, and Marjorie Jackson; one daughter-in-law Denise Jerrido and one son-in-law David Knox; a host of nephews, nieces and extended family and longtime friends. February 6, 2017, God called to say it is time to end your suffering and to enter His Kingdom of Peace and Tranquility. The Jerrido and Knox Families wishes to extend their appreciation for all of the love, compassion, support and sympathy that has been shared with us separately and collectively.
Psalm 100
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name, For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
