Life Story
Dennis Oliver Carter was born on June 28th 1946 to the late Ruth Lillian Carter and the late Oliver B. Carter in Philadelphia Pennsylvania at Philadelphia General Hospital.
Dennis was educated in the Philadelphia public school system. However, Dennis was an exceptional student and ahead of his class so for most of his time in school he was board so during his senior year he decided to get his GED and work with his father in the RCA TV Repair business. While working with his father he attended Sony Institutes School of Electronics and continued with TV repair and later opened his own business. He would later branch out into other areas of electronic repair. His curiosity for all things electrical led him in the direction of computers and the next thing we knew he was building his own. When you walked through his basement you would think he was trying to compete with NASA. Dennis also worked with various companies like Pierce Phelps, Visual Sound and HiFi House. His knack for everything electronic and computers made him popular that in the eighties and nineties his CB radio handle was The Radio Doc Dennis loved his mother and his music. For the last 5 years of his life he spent every day by her side listening to his music. Our father had many talents and abilities and as his three children, Felicia, Dennis Jr and Kelly reflect on our time spent with him we can see a little of him in all of us.
