Doris Marie Kelly was born on March 20,1942 in Philadelphia, PA to Dave Williams and Ludie Mae Williams. She was educated in the Philadelphia public school system. She was employed by several companies from building computers to janitorial services from which she retired from (ABM).
Doris dedicated her life to Christ in 1980 at Corinthian Baptist Church of Germantown. She married the late Charles B. Kelly and from the union she had (3) children Nichet L. Kelly (Shea) Doris Marie Kelly (Ree) and Mark C. Kelly. She then split with Charles and met Carl Payne, and from that union she had Terence B. Kelly (Pooh). Although she didn’t birth her last(6) you couldn’t tell her that Rashona (Mookie) Raquel(Rocky) Briana(Bri) Quadir(Qua) Nassir(Na), and Tatyana(Princess) weren’t hers. If you knew Ms. Doris you knew she loved those kids with everything in her. Ms. Doris was always telling you about her girls or boys, but them (5) great- grands were the light of her life. Ja’siyah ,Ja’sir, Ian(her junior nurse to the end),Jailah, and the youngest in charge Zarhaa.
Ms. Doris was known for leaving her mark wherever she went If you wanted a good story and a laugh she would be sure to give you just that. She enjoyed being retired and being at home with her family If she wasn’t in the kitchen cooking she would be in her bedroom quietly watching the Syfy channel or shopping on QVC. Talking on the phone to her sister Anne or her friend from the job Barbara Jackson then became the norm for her. She enjoyed blessing all of her grands & great-grands with her J.C.Penny specials. Even though she loved her whole family the bond she shared with girls & boys were special to her. She was so proud her girls Rashona, Raquel, Briana, and Tatyana. She let each one of them know and had a special bond with each one of them. She knew if nobody had her Rashona(Mookie) and Raquel(Rocky) had her till the end, and if ever asked she would say”my girls got me”.
She leaves to cherish her memories her four children Nichet,Doris, Mark, and Terence. Her devoted grand daughters Rashona Kelly and Raquel Kelly(Louis Mathis) two sisters Anne Pressley and Louise. A very special niece Sandra Wharton, a very special daughter-in-law Towhanna Blackwell & her grand daughter from God Tracey Palmer. 24 grand children 31 great-grand children & 2 very special friends Renee & Barbara, as well as a host of relatives & friends whom will all miss her immensely. Preceding in death were her father Dave Williams, her mother Ludie Mae Williams, her brothers David Williams, Clarence Coggins, Larrie Coggins, and her beloved sister/best friend Dixie Lee Carwheel.
