The Obituary
Eleanor (Minor) West, was born on November 30, 1928 to the late Mary Elizabeth and James Minor. She departed this life on Thursday, the tenth day of March 2022.
Eleanor was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System. As a child, she regularly attended the John Wesley United Methodist Church with her family.
She worked at the Philadelphia, State Hospital for 20 years, and was also employed as a domestic housekeeper. She was active in several senior citizen groups and enjoyed cooking for others.
She was married to the late Clifton West, who was her partner in life for over 10 years.
Eleanor is survived by her sister Eva Marie Hearn, two nephews, Fareed Ahmed, and Samuel Derrickson, Jr., three nieces, Constance Ligons, Sondra R. Crump, and Anita Derrickson, several great nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
