Obituary for Frank James Crawley, Sr.
Frank James Crawley, Sr. made a swift transition when God in His infinite wisdom dispatched a death angel to his home on Friday, September 26, 2014.  Although most were surprised and sadden, God knew Frank was in need of sweet eternal rest.

He was born to the late William Mott and Carrie Shelton Crawley on September 26,1930 in Sharps, Virginia.  Frank was the second of thirteen children.  He was predeceased by his brothers; Lester, Leroy, Louis, Robert, Albert and Donald.

He attended Blankenburg Elementary, Sulzberger Jr. High and Overbrook High School.

His family relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania when he was three years old.  Early on he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savoir, being baptized at Monumental Baptist Church.

While playing softball Frank met his one true love, Clara Corrine Tuck.  They married on June 8. 1954. To this union two children were born, Wanda and Frank Jr.  Clara entered rest before Frank.

Frank was a great provider for his family.  His first job was on an ice truck delivering blocks of ice to homes to be used in "Ice Boxes" the precursor to the refrigerator.  He then had a lenghty career with Doughtery and REliance Bedding Companies.  Frank made mattresses; he worked as a cutter, power machine operator and shop steward.

Frank joined Calvary Lutheran Church in 1974 under Pastor M. William Radatz.  He was an active member of the Usher Board, Finance Department and Church Council .  One could not find a more diligent and faithful servant until health issues curtailed his service.

Frank had many passions, he was a grill master his barbecue was the best in town.  He was a great fisherman, having a picture of the big one that didn't get away.  Frank enjoyed cooking, one of his specialties was fried chicken and fish which he cooked to perfection.

The light of his  life was his granddaughter, Erinique who he adorned and spoiled.  Since his health issues created many doctor appointments .  Frank was happy when he left them to go straight to Burger King with his coupons.

Fond memories of Frank will be cherished and not forgotten by his daughter, Wanda; Son, Frank Jr. Erinique; sister, Carrie A. Jones ; brothers, Fred, William Calvin, Arthur and Edward; brother-in-laws, James T. Davis and Bishop Raymond Walker; sisters-in-laws, Juanita, Viola and Kathy Crawley; God Children, Dawn Crawley, nephews, cousins, fishing club, church family, neighbors of the 5800 Block of Angora Terrace and friends.
