LIFE STORY George Robert Parker was born to Margaret Parker and George Robert Bagwell on April 5, 1949. He attended Overbrook High School & graduated in 1967. In 1969 he enlisted into the Military and served in the Army during the Vietnam War, where he mastered his craft and became an expert Rifleman PFC in Special Forces earning several gold stars and recognition before receiving an Honorable Discharge. George was employed by the City of Philadelphia Streets Department in 1981 and was a well respected employee until his early retirement in 1993. He married Cassandra Tascoe on April 7, 1979, two days after his 30th birthday. His first daughter, Aisha, was born in 1980 and his second daughter, Taquana, was born in 1984. Everyone who knew George knew that his daughters were the center of his world and that he deeply loved and greatly cherished them. He loved his daughters and his grandsons, Amir and Quadir dearly. George was a member of the Vine Memorial Baptist Church where he served on several ministries including the Male Chorus & Male Choir. George was best known and will always be remembered for his very unique and wonderful personality, Godly character, playing the harmonica in all notes, his Donald Duck impression as well as the special way he loved people and touched and the lives of everyone he encountered. George was an angel to everyone who knew him. He was always there for everyone and barely ever used the word "no". He was a very warm, kind, loving, devoted, loyal & dependable father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. To say that George will be greatly missed by all who knew him is a huge understatement. He greatly impacted the lives of all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis and his stepfather, Hubert. He leaves to cherish his memories his two daughters, Aisha & Taquana, his two grandsons, Amir & Quadir, two best friends, Butch & Donna, two sisters, Jennifer & Theresa, two brothers, Michael & Lawrence, a host of nieces & nephews with a special bond with Chris Jr., one sister-in-law, Tanya, one aunt, Mollie Parker, two uncles, Roosevelt & Stanley Parker and a host of great nieces & nephews, cousins and friends.
