Life Story Ida Mae was the fourth of six children born to the late Willie B. and Sarah Louise Hight, Ida was born January 2, 1923, in Rocky Mount North Carolina, and was called home on September 21, 2015. She was preceded in death by her sisters; Sarah Justina, Mamie Lee, Josephine & Mary, and one brother Willie Jr. Â Ida's education began in the Rocky Mount, North Carolina school system and she continued her education in the public school system of Pocomoke Maryland before moving to Philadelphia PA. Â Ida accepted Christ at and early age, she enjoyed reading the bible and having bible discussions regarding almost anything in the bible; Ida also loved teaching Sunday school until her job prevented her from attending church on a regular basis. She was a faithful member of Bible Way Baptist church for many years until her long illness prevented her from attending church. Â Ida loved to travel, she also enjoyed playing pinochle and pitty pat with family and friends. Â Ida was employed by the City of Philadelphia, she worked for the Department of Public Welfare in the cities Callowhill and Stenton Child care emergency services division until her retirement in 1981. Â She leaves to cherish her memory; one son, Reginald, daughter in-law Arthuretta, three grandsons, Reginald Jr., Lamont and LaRon, five great grandchildren, Allan, Alana, Andre, Jaelyn and Derrick, three great great grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan and Jayce, a special nephew she helped raise William Height, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
