JIMMY LEE WILLIAMS was born on December 1, 1951 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He passed away on October 10, 2023 in his hometown.
Jimmy attended Philadelphia public schools for his primary school education and graduated from BOK High School in 1970. Shortly following his graduation, he enlisted in to the United States Air Force in 1972. He served for four years and achieved the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged.
After his military service, Jimmy dedicated thirty-six years of his life to the Department of Veterans Affairs, where he worked until his retirement in 2012.
In 1969 Jimmy met, Gloria Copes. They connected immediately and after a wonderful courtship they were united in marriage on September 9, 1973. From this union they were blessed with one daughter, Nicole, whom he had a close bond.
Jimmy had a passion for entertaining his family and friends. He was always ready to offer something delicious to eat or drink and enjoyed hosting gatherings in his home. He also had a love for music and was a skilled professional on the barbecue grill. Jimmy found joy in taking trips to Atlantic City with his family. He had a variety of talents, including carpentry and painting.
Jimmy Lee Williams will be remembered as a devoted family man, a skilled professional, and a proud Veteran. His love and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jimmy was a loving partner to his wife of fifty years, an amazing father, and a doting grandfather to his daughter and granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Watson; sister, Willia; nephew, Michael; and niece, Michelle.
A man of strong family ties, Jimmy is survived by: his wife, Gloria; his daughter, Nicole; his granddaughter, Khloe; and his mother, Carrie. He is also survived by: his sisters, Marian (Jeffrey) and Berniece (James); as well as his sisters-in-law, Joyce, Carol, and Valerie. Additionally, Jimmy leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
