Obituary for Johnnie W. Feaster
With Love & Honor
Johnnie W. Feaster entered into this world on May 3, 1924 in Fairfield County, South Carolina to Ernest and Rebecca(Charles) Feaster. He was 1 of 5 children in the Feaster household.
He was educated in the South Carolina school system and he later attended technical school for automotives. He joined the US Navy at an early age and was a veteran of World War II.
After a brief employment in Philadelphia, PA he went to work for the US Naval Ordnance Station in Maryland, where he worked in the transportation department for over 35 years, until he retired.
While living in Maryland, he joined the Masonic Lodge #66 and achieved the 33rd degree level.
Following his retirement from civil service, he returned to Philadelphia where he joined and worked for Hickman Temple AME Church as Director of Operations and Head of the Trustee Board for over 10 years. It was during this time that he met and married Diane Edmonson.
JW, as he was commonly referred to, had a good sense of humor, was always willing to help others and was a "father figure" to many. He absolutely enjoyed spending time with his family.

There will be a viewing on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 9:00 AM at Hickman Temple AME Church located at 5001 Baltimore Avenue. The funeral service will start at 10:00 AM. Final resting place to conclude at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
