Obituary for Jolitha A. Nickerson
In Loving Memory
Jolitha A. Nickerson was born on September 13, 1965 to the late Willie Mae Nickerson and Charles Joseph Riley. The Lord called her from labor to reward on November 19, 2011. Jolitha was the 4th of 5 children.
Jolitha was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System. In 1988, she attended the Thompson Institute for nursing and received her certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was employed by Lynch Homes for the Mentally Disabled where she worked for over 20 years until she became ill in 2007.
Jolitha was a member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church at the time of her passing and loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a very outgoing person and loved to shop at Wal-Mart and was known to many as the "Wal-Mart Queen".
On September 27, 2000, Jolitha's world was made complete when she gave birth to her only beloved daughter, Bryanna. She also played a large role in raising many of her nieces whom she loved dearly.
Jolitha was proceeded in death by her beloved mother, Willie Mae Nickerson and sister Tammy Mack. She leaves loving memories to her daughter, Bryanna; her father, Charles Joseph Riley; 2 brothers, Terry and Walter Nickerson; 2 sisters, Toni McNeely and Elizabeth Hudson; 1 aunt, Sheila Anthony; 1 great-aunt, Mary Jane; 1 sister-in-law, Valerie Nickerson; 1 brother-in-law, James Mack; 2 god-daughters, Nakeedah and Cheyenne; 4 nieces, Kiesha, Shatima, Katia and Avia; 3 nephews, William, Sean and Jerry; 4 very dear and special friends, Lydia, Patricia, Maria and Tamar; and a numerous list of loving relatives and friends.
There will be a viewing on Saturday, November 26, 2011 9:00 AM @ New Mount Zion Baptist Church located at 919 South 13th Street. The funeral service will start at 10:00 AM. Final resting place to conclude at Fernwood Cemetery.
