The Obituary
Joseph White was born on July 26, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the oldest of three siblings. His parents taught him values that would shape his life, faith in God, the rewards of hard work, respect for others, love and service to others.
“Joey” as he was affectionately called was educated in the Philadelphia School System attending Bok Technical High School where he took up tailoring. After high school he went on toTrade school and became a master electrician. He was employed at numerous companies in the region including Evets Electrical Inc. of Doylestown, Riggs Distler & Company, Reading Railroad, Carr & Duff and Sunoco Refinery just to name a few. Joseph was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local No. 380.
Joseph was an inspiration to many. His love and devotion for his mother Geneva was a bond that was unbreakable. As a young man Joey developed his expensive taste for clothing and shoes. He prided himself for his sense of style and flair for fashion. Joey was an avid shopper. He was always color coordinated from his tie down to his socks and shoes. Joseph was very soft spoken and had a quite gentle spirit and a wonderful smile. After meeting Beverly Louis who was his teenage sweetheart they kept in touch in friendship over the span of 40 years and married in 2010. Beverly was the love of his life and was always concerned about Joey’s health and well-being and made sure that he received the care that he needed. Besides his family and friends, Joey had a love for cars, loved to dance, had a good sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh and lived his life to the fullest although his health issues would try to stop him, he would continue to press on.
Joseph is survived by his devoted and faithful wife and friend Beverly Louis-White, mother, Geneva White, brother, Clarence White (Mollie Peterson) sister, Debra White, nephew, Antoine Burgess, niece Sarah Gouin (Vladimyr) nephew Theodie Peterson (Krista) step son Dwayne Louis, favorite aunt Mary Dunn, brother- in-law, Kenneth Louis, sisters-in-laws, Yvonne Louis Jones (Clarence) Nadine Louis Livingston (Eddie) and Cheryl Louis, life long friend and confidant Mannie Green and a host of other relatives and friends.
