LIFE STORY;
Julius Senar Harris born January 5, 1925 to Hattie and Evanglish Harris. One of seven children born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Julius was educated in the Philadelphia school system. He served in the United States Coast Guard. Julius worked for many years at the U.S. Postal Service. Due to being diagnosed with kidney failure he had to retire. In 1974 he received a kidney transplant that lasted the rest of his life.
Julius married Willie Alma Clarkson on August 27, 1944. To this union three children were born: Linda Alma, Carrie Louise and Julius S. Harris, Jr., who preceded him in death.
He enjoyed life; he loved sports and all the arts. He did his best to be there for his family as well as his friends.
Julius accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of New Central Baptist Church for many years. He joined Calvary Episcopal Church. He briefly was a member of The African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas but returned to Calvary. He served in different capacities until his health began to fail.
Julius leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Linda Moses and Carrie Harris; three grandsons: Michael Moses (Lachele), Lawrence Moses (Dana) and Julius S. Harris, III; two granddaughters: Dana Yvette Monroe (Miles), Alma Bernadette Hylton (Ryan); great granddaughters: Camara Thompson (Ronald), Michaeh, Gabrielle and Morgan Moses, Mia Monroe; great grandsons: Nicoholas and Trevor Hylton; Miles Monroe, Christopher Moses, Khaleel Hammond, Nevin Rose, Khidir Webster; great great grands, Marie, Elyse, Sophia Nicole and Malaya. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his faithful mate, Betty Weaver, his good buddy Walter and a host of other relative and friends.
