Our beloved mother, Lois Conner was the fourth of eleven children born to the late Samuel and Fannie Baty on July 4, 1926, in Alexandria, Louisiana. She peacefully departed her earthen vessel and entered eternal life on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the age of 97. She was educated in the Alexandria, Louisiana school system.

In 1942, in café in Alexandria, Louisiana, she met a young Army Corporal Erdell Conner that became the love of her life. They married on November 8, 1943, and their special union lasted over 61 years until his untimely death in 2005. They were blessed to have three children, Donald, Geraldine, and Erdell, Jr. (deceased).

The couple relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1953.

Lois was a very religious woman who always put God first and instilled those values in her children. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her family meant everything to her. She was kind, compassionate, loving, and always willing to help anyone who needed her. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her.

Lois is preceded in death by her husband Erdell Conner, Sr., her son Erdell Conner, Jr.; her parents Samuel and Fannie Baty; five sister, Willie Myrtis, Anna Neria, Charity Hazel, Dorothy, and Myrtle Frankie; and four brothers, Ernest, Samuel, Lloyd, and John Blondale.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two children, Donald Ray (Barbara), Geraldine Marrero (Frank), one sister Earlene Dickson, sister-in-law Clara Jones, daughter-in-law Athena Conner; eight grandchildren Trelaine Mapp (Marisha), Derick Conner, Bryan Perry, Rasheed Conner (Leanora), Naiyma Conner, Antoine and Marchant Johnson, Idriys Muhammed; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Sorrowfully Submitted,

The Family
