Obituary for Mary L. Epps
Mary Louise Epps was born on July 9, 1917 in Burkeville, Virginia.  A daughter of the late Lee Emma Jones and Charlie Carter.  She departed this life on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia surrounded by her loving family.

Having been reared in a religious family, she was 1 of 5 children and received her formal education in the public schools of Virginia.  As a young adult, she developed a love for sewing and earned several certificates in dressmaking.

Mrs. Epps had 1 child, Marie, and was married to the late John Epps where they lived for many years in Brooklyn, New York and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  During her time in Philadelphia she was an active member of the Choir at White Rock Baptist Church.

She was affectionately known as "Louise" or "Aunt Louise" by relatives and friends.  All who knew her saw a beautiful woman who enjoyed life.  She was patient, generous, always lending an ear and a smile.  Her family and friends will miss the wisdom of her advice which she gave freely and willingly.

She leaves to mourn their loss: a daughter, Marie Bitante; a granddaughter, Trina Bitante; 4 great grandchildren, Jason, William, Ethan and Kyle; a niece; nephews, cousins and friends.  In addition to her parents, she will be welcomed home by her late siblings: Sally, Zeather, Arthur, Alice and her late grandson, Vincent.

There will be a viewing on Saturday, October 20, 2012 9am at Wood Funeral Home, Inc. - 5537-39 West Girard Avenue.  The funeral service will start at 10am.  Final resting place to conclude at Mt. Lawn Cemetery in Sharon Hill, PA.
