Obituary for Mozell Roberts
In Loving Memory
Mozell Roberts was born to the late Lewis and Cornelia Roberts on July 13, 1910 in Jeffersonville, Georgia. She was 1 of 12 children, 2 died at birth. After 101 years, Mozell went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 13, 2011.
Mozell's religious training began at an early age at the First Baptist Church of Jeffersonville. She was also educated in the school system of Jeffersonville.
Mozell arrived in Philadelphia in 1944 and shortly after joined The Union Baptist Church. She later moved to West Philadelphia and it was there that she joined her beloved Greater White Rock Baptist Church, where she was affectionately called "Mother Roberts". Mozell was a member of the Senior Choir, The Usher Board and a member of the Deaconess Board.
She worked for many years for Stauffers Restaurant as a cashier until she retired in 1988.
Before moving to the Kearsley Retirement Community in April 2011, Mozell attended faithfully to 2 centers, The Philadelphia Senior Center and The Sunshine Center.
There will be a viewing on Monday, September 19, 2011 10:00 AM at Greater White Rock Baptist Church located at 5535 Market Street (corner of 56th & Market). The funeral service will start at 11:00 AM. Final resting place to conclude at Rolling Green Memorial Park in West Chester, PA.
