Remembering the Life & Legacy of  PATRICIA SUMLAR Friday, July 8, 2016   LIFE STORY             Patricia Sumlar was born in South Carolina on April 24, 1952. Patricia has one sibling, Jonia Sumlar Garrison.            Patricia, lovingly known as Pat, attended John Bartram High School and resided in West Philadelphia. For many years Pat worked in social services, assisting individuals in need.            Pat was very skilled at cooking and enjoyed sharing the final product skills during family gatherings such as Christmas and Easter. She was a generous, loving, soul who would never let a holiday or birthday pass without her acknowledgement. Family was an integral part of her life and she was devoted to her parents. Pat maintained a very close relationship with her sister Jonia, brother-in-law Recardo and cousin Frederick Parker with whom she regarded as a brother. Pat loved listening and humming along to some of her favorite rhythm and blues songs. Music was the theme song for her soul. Pat left a lasting impression on all those she came in contact with. Patricia Sumlar went from loving arms into eternally loving arms on Saturday, July 2nd. 2016. She leaves to cherish fond memories: her father Johnnie Sumlar; sister Jonia Sumlar Garrison, brother-in-law Recardo Garrison; and a host of close relatives and friends.  Lovingly submitted, The Sumlar Family      at St. Matthew AME Church 215 N. 57th Street Philadelphia, PA  19139   Viewing:  10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Homegoing Service to follow at 11:00 a.m.   Interment Rolling Green Memorial Park
