Life Story

Ronald L. Carter, affectionately known as "Ron" was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 17, 1969, to Edna M. Carter.  On September 12, 2014 Ron was called home.

Ron was educated through the Philadelphia school system where he enjoyed being an athlete.  He later went on to become a chef.  Ron was employed at St. Joseph University.  The Restaurant School, September and Presbyterian Hospital.

On July 30, 1994, Ronald married his soul mate, Sherrie Finks- Carter.  He was a family man.  In 2010, Ron joined Greenwood Baptist church with his wife and daughters.  He was  a loving, dedicated father, fun pop-pop and a great friend.

He enjoyed family vacations to Wildwood, New Jersey and cooking for family and friends whenever he had the chance.  Ron always liked to talk.  He had a story for everybody.  Anyone who knew Ron knew he was a Dallas Cowboys fan and if you didn't know you would find out. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Hershel Carter.

He leaves to cherish fond memories:  his wife Sherrie Finks-Carter, children: Troy, Monique, Ashlei, Ronesha, Amber and Ahnyia; grandchildren, Jahbree, Jahmere, India, Imani, Inajah, Jaidan, Madison, Amarri, Autumn and Summer; mother, Edna M. Carter; sibilings, Robert, Sean Eric, Lamont, Michelle and Shavalerie; brother in-law, Johnnie; sisters-in law, Loretta, Tonia, Toya Charlene Tina and Danielle; special brother, Sylvester; grandmother; Dorothy Carter; uncles, Earl Marvin (Beverly) , Freddie (Barbara), Leslie and James/ PI;aunts, Wanda, Beverly and Cheryl (Leon); four special nieces Michelle, Emily, Roberta and Denorra; special nephew, Tyrone; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

A Celebration of His Life is scheduled on
Tuesday, September 23, 2014

The Viewing will be at 
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. 
The Homegoing Services will continue at
11:00 a.m.
