The Obituary
Roslyn Carter was born on June 3, 1966 to the late Julius and Dolly Carter. She was the seventh of eight children. Roslyn was educated in the Philadelphia school system. She later went to work in housekeeping at Horizon House for a couple of years, but her passion and most recent career, was in Home Health Care.
Roslyn Worked for Patriot Health Care as a Home Health Aide. This career was fitting as she had a heart of gold. Always giving and caring, even before getting into this field, to strangers and friends the same. She was so kind and thought of life as simple and easy going. She lived by “treat others how you would want to be treated” and “to give people their flowers while they can still smell them”. She loved to serve, and this showed when she organized an ongoing event at church, when she could attend, to help the less fortunate. She loved her family and was always there. During her father’s last day, along with her siblings, she nurtured and cared for him until the end.
Roslyn was a devoted mother who went to the world’s end for her children. She was focused on ensuring them and a solid bond and was committed to supporting and loving them. She loved her kids, but she had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren.
Most important, Roslyn was a child of God. She believed in Jesus as the Son of God, and was saved by accepting Him in her heart. She acknowledged how far He brought her from and was forever thankful for His mercy and grace. She was a member of Full Gospel holy Church of God, under the leadership of Pastor Lonnie Tuck Jr,. She always rejoiced in the Lord through singing, praying, serving, and reading scripture. There wasn’t a notebook you could touch that she owned that did not have scripture notes, or words to Gospel music. If Roslyn was in any building, you would know it, especially church. She raised her voice to the heavens in joy and love for the Lord. She appreciated the support and loves her church members showed her, and they too became like family.
On November 26, 2021, God called Roslyn home to a place where He will wipe away every tear from her eyes, and death is no more, neither is pain, for the former things have passed. -----Revelations 21:4
Roslyn leaves precious memories with her loved ones: her children, Latasha Jackson A.K.A. Pumpkin, Gerald Carter A.K.A. G, and Ruthann Freeman A.K.A. Precious; grandchildren, Isaiah Harris and Aaliyah Thomas; two brothers, Jerome Carter and Terrance Carter; two sisters, Doretha Williams and Rochelle J. Carter; two nephews, Yisentrum Carter and Michael Carter; one niece, Princess Carter; one brother-in-law, Edwin Williams; two sons-in-laws Tracey Jackson and Cam Freeman; two granddaughers-in-law, Inayah Ivey and Issah Ivey; grandson-in-law, Aaron Petitel one niece-in-law, Christina Carter; and a host of other relatives and friends who were near and dear to her heart as she was to theirs.
To her family and friends she would leave her favorite scripture. “Let not you heart be trouble; ye believe in God believe also in Me.” John 14:1
IF LOVE ALONE COULD HAVE SAVED YOU… YOU NEVER WOULD HAVE DIED.
