Obituary for Wayne Stanley Wilkins
Wayne Stanley Wilkins began his journey May 7, 1957. Wayne was born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to Rosetta and Willie Wilkins.
From the time of his birth to the time of his passing on June 5, 2012, Wayne never allowed obstacles or negatives deter him from any goal that he set. Until he became too sick and weak, he still kept a positive mind and spirit.
Wayne received his earlier education in the Philadelphia Public Schools graduating from University City High School. He then journeyed to college in Columbus, Ohio. There he majored in electric engineering for the short time he was there.
Wayne was only there for a short time before coming down with his illness, multiple sclerosis, which caused him to have to leave college and take care of his health problems that existed until his passing. Wayne fought a hard battle with his MS, but through it all he never gave up.
Wayne is preceded in death by his father, Willie Wilkins.
Wayne is survived by his mother, Rosetta; 1 sister, Gloria Wilkins of Rocky Mount, NC; 1 brother James Wilkins; 1 sister-in-law, Dudonna of Philadelphia, PA; 1 niece, 2 nephews and a host of family and friends.
There will be a viewing on Friday, June 15, 2012 10:00 AM at Wood Funeral Home, Inc. - 5537-39 West Girard Avenue. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Final resting place to conclude at Merion Memorial Park in Bala Cynwyd, PA.
